Safari in Kenya | led by Rabbi Richard and Mindy Agler
Tour Operator: sita Tours
Kenya Safari 2025 was a total success. (Just ask the people who were on it.) We’re looking to take the next one in December 2026. (After Hanukkah and before Christmas! If you even MIGHT be interested, contact Rich@TaliFund.org or Mindy@TaliFund.org and let us know. More details coming soon but for now, we can promise you an unforgettable journey. Cheers!
December 2026
PROGRAM UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND Subject to Change—but it should go PRETTY MUCH like this:
Day 1 | FLY to AFRICA
There are lots of ways to get to Nairobi JKIA airport but the direct flight from New York’s JFK via Kenya Airways may be the easiest from the US. Use your miles, your points, whatever. Just get here!
Visitors greet residents at the TAGS nursery—and vice versa!
DAY 2 | ARRIVE NAIROBI
Karibu—Welcome to Kenya! You will be met at the airport and transferred to our hotel. Note that all accommodations are “4-Star.”
Some light afternoon exploration of Nairobi will include an up close and personal giraffe encounter. Time permitting, we will visit the Karen Blixen Museum as well. (Do yourself a favor and watch Out of Africa—again, if need be.)
Edith Murogo—Founder, CEO, and Guiding Light—justly proud at TAGS Magazine Launch Ceremony 8/12/25
DAY 3 | NAIROBI
We will visit the Talia Agler Girls Shelter, learn the story of how it came to be, and be welcomed in heart-warming fashion.
It is the custom for those who visit TAGS to bring a gift of themselves, i.e., something to teach, a game to play, a way to dance. Anything really. Details later but this will be a highlight for one and all.
DAYS 4–9 | SAFARI! Visit three of Kenya’s renowned Wildlife Reserves. Elephants, Giraffes, Lions, Wildebeest, Zebras, Hippos, and much more! Experience a lifetime of memories. Like the ones in the pictures on this page. Only it’s MUCH better in real life.
DAYS 9–10 NAIROBI
We will visit the Nairobi Hebrew Congregation (est. 1904) and learn about Jewish life in East Africa.
We drive to nearby Githurai to meet with some of TAGS’ older beneficiaries at the CDTD Vocational School. This visit will give us a first-hand understanding of the impact that the program has on the lives of the girls.
Special encounters with some of our distinguished friends in high places.
Filled with priceless memories we say, for this time, Kwaheri—Farewell Kenya!
Two of TAGS’ stars—and we mean STARS!
You may also wish to arrive early, stay late, or arrange visits to other countries in the region. Our travel arranger, Natalie Lee of Sita Tours <Nataliel@sitatours.com> is at your service to help coordinate any pre-trip or post-trip add-ons.
Again, we know you need more information than this to make a commitment. But--if you are even "Safari-curious" ;-) let Rich@TaliFund.org or Mindy@TaliFund.org know. We have many answers now and the rest will be coming soon.
We need twelve travelers to make it a go. An African safari is a "bucket list" trip for many people. Combine it with a share in helping to make the world a better place and you have a trip for a lifetime!
Lions post-making another lion. We were there for the earlier part but Squarespace wouldn’t let us post the video (haha). Seriously, we’ve seen lions making new lions on two safaris in a row. Who knows, maybe next time too!
Future TAGS’ Stars in the making.
All photos and videos on this page are by our 2025 Safari travelers
Above: sunset on the savanna. Who’s that roosting in the acacia?
Your fearless leaders—with friend. (This pic is from 2023 but we just had to keep it in. :-)
Because how could we not?!
Zebras—just walking over to visit. Not as unusual as you might think!
Listening and Learning
When we visit TAGS, we don’t go just to look—we go to teach, share, engage, and play.
Some pictures need no caption.
We saw lots of Cape Buffalo in better shape than this one. But this is as close as any of us got.
Cheetah—they’re easy to photograph when they aren’t running!
A rabbi-attorney and a seminary president walked into a girls shelter—and did they ever jam!
Mama and baby lunching alongside our jeep.
Who doesn’t love the smell of hippos in the morning? Or at least the sight of them?!
let us know if you have any questions at all!
Karibu Kenya.
Karibu means "welcome." And you will be--most graciously!

The Great Migration to Serengeti from Masai Mara. The wildebeest and zebra (in the distance) go on for MILES. This is far less than 1% of it. So yes, you have to be there. Which is kind of the point of this whole page. :-)
